Privacy Policy

1. About This Policy

Josics is operated by Josics Enterprises LLP (“Josics”, “we” or “us”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit josics.com, apply for membership or use our community services.

Our community begins with teenage girl golfers. We recognize the importance of protecting young members’ privacy and involving their parents or legal guardians.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

  • Registration information: name, date of birth, email address, phone number and invitation details.
  • Parent or guardian information: name, contact details, relationship to the child, and records of consent and verification.
  • Profile information: profile photograph, city, golf interests, handicap and other details you choose to provide.
  • Community content: messages, posts, photographs, comments, event invitations, golf scores and other content you submit.
  • Support information: enquiries, reports and correspondence with Josics.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, access times, and logs needed to operate and protect the service.

Please avoid submitting identity documents or sensitive personal information unless we specifically request them through an appropriate process.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Process invitations and membership applications.
  • Confirm eligibility and carry out membership checks.
  • Contact parents or guardians and obtain parental consent.
  • Create accounts and provide community features.
  • Support connections, communications and member-created activities.
  • Send verification codes, invitations and essential service notices.
  • Respond to enquiries and investigate reports.
  • Prevent misuse, protect members and maintain service security.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations.

We will obtain separate permission where required for additional purposes, such as promotional communications or using member photographs in external marketing.

4. Children and Parental Consent

Josics community membership is available to approved members aged 13 and above. Children under 13 must not register.

For applicants under 18, we contact a parent or legal guardian to confirm the child’s details, the adult’s relationship to the child and their permission for participation. Community access remains pending until our verification and consent process is complete.

We retain a record of the consent and verification process. If additional evidence is needed, we will explain what is required and why.

If we record a verification call, we will inform the parent or guardian and obtain their consent before recording.

Parents or guardians may contact us to review or correct their child’s information, withdraw consent or request account closure and deletion. Withdrawal of consent will result in the child’s community access being disabled.

If we discover an account belonging to a child under 13, we will disable it and take appropriate steps to delete the associated information, subject to applicable legal requirements.

5. What Other Members Can See

Information you add to your profile or share in the community may be visible to other members, depending on the feature, audience and privacy settings.

Content shared in a conversation, group or event is available to its intended participants. Those participants may still copy or share it, so please exercise care when posting.

Parental contact details and verification records are collected for administration and consent purposes and are not intended for display to other members.

Do not share your home address, school schedule, live location or another person’s private information unnecessarily.

6. Messages, Calls and Moderation

Messages and other communications may be processed by Josics and the service providers supporting those features.

Authorized personnel may access relevant information where necessary to provide support, investigate reports, address safety or security concerns, or comply with law. Such access should be limited to what is reasonably necessary.

Do not assume that communications are end-to-end encrypted unless a feature explicitly states this.

7. How We Share Information

We may share information:

  • With other members as needed to provide the features and sharing choices you use.
  • With hosting, storage, communications and other service providers that support Josics.
  • With authorized personnel assisting with membership verification, support, moderation and security.
  • With authorities or other parties where legally required, or where reasonably necessary to address fraud, security threats or risks to a person’s safety.
  • As part of a merger, acquisition or transfer of the service, subject to applicable privacy obligations.

We do not sell members’ personal information.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies or similar technologies where needed to maintain sessions, remember preferences and protect the service.

If we introduce optional analytics or advertising technologies, we will explain them and obtain consent where required.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent some features from working.

9. Storage and International Processing

Information may be processed in locations used by Josics and its service providers, including outside your country of residence. Countries include: USA, India, Singapore

10. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating accounts, maintaining consent records, addressing safety reports and meeting legal obligations.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where required for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

Information will be retained up to 12 months.

11. Your Choices and Requests

Members and parents or guardians may contact us to request:

  • Access to personal information.
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Account closure or deletion of personal information.
  • Withdrawal of consent.
  • Assistance with privacy settings or a privacy complaint.

We may verify the requester’s identity and authority before acting. Some requests may be subject to legal exceptions or require us to disable features that depend on the information.

Optional promotional communications can be declined without affecting essential account notices.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information and restrict access to authorized persons.

No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep login credentials and verification codes confidential, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

13. Third-Party Websites and Services

Links to external websites, venues, coaches, retailers or other services may appear on Josics. Their collection and use of personal information are governed by their own policies.

Review those policies before sharing information or making payments.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as Josics develops. We will publish the revised version and notify affected members or parents of material changes. Where required, we will obtain fresh consent before introducing new uses of personal information.
